Understanding ampoules (an eastern concept) and oils (a western concept) can be confusing. It gets hairy enough differentiating between serums, essences and ampoules so now you discover OILS. It’s honestly like comparing apples to oranges (see what I did there?). Let’s first take a look at some traits that can help you differentiate between the two.
What are Ampoules
An ampoule is a supercharged serum with higher concentrations of active ingredients that you’re meant to use for a finite amount of time as a booster or when you’re having a skin crisis of some sort. Ampoules usually come in smaller bottles with droppers.
What are Oils
Oils or Essential Oils to the beauty and skin world are highly concentrated versions of the natural oils in plants. Essential oils can be intensely nourishing and bring balance to the skin. So whether you’re dealing with oily skin, acne, wrinkles, or dry patches (or all of the above!), essential oils are here to help. They also work wonders on headaches, stress, and other emotional issues.
Type of Ampoules
Just like oils, ampoules can serve a direct conditional or concern. For example wrinkles, like the Swanicoco Acai Extract Wrinkle Ampoule. Swanicoco created an ampoule made up of 98% acai stem cell extracts, ultimately delivering nutrients to your complexion to reduce wrinkles, improve skin discoloration, and enhance skin elasticity.
Or the Mizon Night Repair Ampoule which helps to powerfully revitalize skin while you sleep adding hydration and radiance. Some can be considered simple while other contain more sophisticated ingredients.
Types of Oils
Oils are not as complicated as ampoules since they are natural essences extracted from plants. Take for instance Lavender, this essential oil helps heal skin irritations and can be used for all skin types. It can cleanse cuts and scrapes, and also calm down stressed skin.
Another great oil that is found in many American products is Ylang Ylang. It’s great for treating oily and acne prone skin. Its properties can stimulate cell growth to fight the effects of aging.
Whether you’re interested ampoules, oils or both know that while they are different the benefit they provide your skin are true. Try to incorporate ampoules in your night routine and oils into your day. Oils can be used in between routine for any emotional issues.
